Army Party!!!

This party would be so much fun outside, but alas, my son's birthday falls in January, so we rented a community center gym. It worked out perfectly for what we needed!

The OFFICIAL DRAFT notice!

The local armory donated some items including these neat bags, footballs, lanyards, and bracelets!

Treat bags had grendades, Army footballs, army laynards, whitstle, goarmy bracelet, binocular keychain, USA tootsie rolls, grenade water balloons, army men, and MREs (fruit roll ups).

I also made a cd for each child with army songs on it! We used some of them during the party

This party was very fun to plan but as usual, this theme was not popular when I did the party. Probably one month after the party, I found actual Alice in Wonderland "stuff" for parties.

Table setting was "Mad Hatter tea party" theme. Tea pots, tea cups, singing flowers, mushrooms with caterpillars, mad hatter hats, and of coarse the "drink me" bottle

Super Mario Birthday!

I put ALOT of effort into this party! I made the piranha plants and Mario and Luigi hats myself!

All the guests got to choose their character when they arrived. We had Mario hats, Luigi hats, mustaches, or princess crowns and wands, for Princess Peach.

Sweet Shop Baby Shower

We also gave out gumball machines found at the local dollar store since we had several children present at the baby shower.

It was fun to gather all the candy!

Two Peas in a Pod Baby Shower

This was my shower for my twins. It was scheduled to be January 5, which ended up being the day they were born. 31 weekers. So we had to reschedule. They were still in the NICU.

All the party supplies were green! Of coarse, right after the shower, they came out with "two peas in a pod supplies" They are super cute!

We had games! The guess the weight, height game. We couldn't do the date since everyone knew when they were born! Also, we had advise cards. The green pea pods were a game that had a peas in it. The one with the most peas won. And we had a scratch off lottery ticket with 2 winners. We had "My water broke" game. We put little plastic babies in ice cubes and gave them to the guests. The first one whose water broke and the baby came out, won! The prized were these cute "two peas in a pod" salt and pepper shakers.

"Wild West" Cowgirl Party - Yeehaw!

This was an awesome Western Cowgirl party! The venue was a wonderful small local zoo called The Little Ponderosa.

The cake. What cowgirl wouldn't love this??

Behind the cake, you can see the treatbags. Each child's bag had their names on them with hay string and a cowgirl cardstock. Inside was plastic snakes, sherrif badges, cowboys and indians, wanted signs for the kids pictures from the party, themed candy, and much more. Little kids who wouldn't appreciate the bags got stick horseys instead. I found them at the local dollar store!

All of the children got nametags when they got there of a "Wild West" person. The birthday girl was "Annie Oakley" This was very fun as everyone tried to get into the persona.

The cow"girl" hat cookies. They were a hit. I used treat bags and just wrapped them up in them. I think it made quite an impact.

Again, I didn't take good pictures of all my tables. I am usually too busy, but behind the girls, you can see the table clothes used as well as the centerpieces, barbed wire, lanterns, old milk jugs, galvanized buckets, and boots. (I also used these for another party)

The menu:

hotdogs, homemade chili (by my mom), chips, corn on the cob, pasta salad (with wagon wheel pasta), baked beans, and all the condiments. We used the old speckled pots and bandanda serving plates, like you see with the cookies. Bandana plates and napkins. It was super wild west!

The invitations: (I will have to find a picture of them) They were shaped like a boot (handmade) and it had a brad that made the boot swivvle open with the invite wording inside. It was sooooo cute. Will post a pic as soon as I find it.

They kids all got endless pony rides as well as access to the whole zoo featuring llamas, goats, chickens, snakes, a playground, and much more.

Everyone had a great time getting dressed up their cowboy and cowgirl best.

MONKEY party!!

This was the twins 2nd birthday (they just turned 3), but I loved the monkey theme, so I had to put it on here, even though I don't have very many pictures of the party.

Found shirts that say I am 2 with a monkey hanging on to the 2! I'm sure they were for boys, but the blue and yellow went with the colors anyway!

And little chicken quesadillas, chicken finger platter, fruit tray, cheetos, veggie tray, and chips and dip. Perfect kid food!

I used yellow treatbags and made stickers to put on the bags that went with the theme.

Western Theme Party

Western Theme SURPRISE 60th Birthday for a dear friend of our family. Her daughters asked for our help and I think we delivered! Thanks to the birthday lady herself for unknowingly letting us borrow supplies!

The venue was the Pavilion at Cove Lake Park in Jacksboro, TN.

This was perfect for the theme with the rustic wood look.

For some reason, I don't have a picture of the tables for eating, but when I find one, I will post it. They had lanterns, the flower centerpieces, and pretend barbed wire all around.

All the tables had the red and white checked table clothes. You can maybe see it in the background of some pictures.

We had all the guests dress western and we gave out sherrif badges and bandanas for the bandits. You can see the tables behind with the old-fashioned oil lanterns.

We even had karaoke provided by her best friend. It was a huge hit.

I also did a slideshow, with a projector, of pictures from her life and set it to music. It was pretty fabulous it I do say so myself! Very special memories made.

Modern Tea Party Shower

Fabulous

The table setting - Zebra and pink plates with utensils tied in a fan napkin. Black placemats and doilies for the awesome plastic tea cups I found. Centerpieces were teapots and teacups with polkadots and flowers! So, so girly and sweet!

This was a baby shower I did for my best friend who was finally having a little girl after having 2 boys! I wanted it to be girly girl but still modern. This is my Modern Tea Party! Zebra print, hot pink, and polkadots were the colors for the Tea Party. The invitations pink polkadot trimmed with a zebra tea pot.

This was one of the favors. They were teabags that were zebra or polkadots and they had a string with the "tea" tag attached that said, "Thanks a latte!" They were fabulous!!

This was my homemade sign that says, "Join Scotlyn for tea-time" with the mama to be.

Cookies by, you guessed it, my mom! They were sooo cute! We had teapots, teacups, and square zebra cookies with monogram S, for Scotlyn.

Strawberries dipped in Pink Chocolate and sweet white chocolate baby bottle suckers.

Isn't this cute?? We took Zebra cakes, instead of doing petit fours. and monogrammed them S. Topped it off with the sweetest polkadot tea set I found.

And TADA...the baby bottom cake and teapot cake. These were spectacular. So perfect for the theme. Every little detail was precise.
Little teacpus with candles... I HAD to add these pictures of the home-made bear my mom made for her. This was her baby blanket (an old pillowcase) that was really not in good shape. There wasn't much left of it. My mom took the fabric and made a bear. This was the sweetest moment ever! How NEAT that the fabric already had zebra print in it. It was only 29 years old!!
I love it when they cry tears of joy!

Dr. Seuss Birthday Party

This was my twins' 3rd birthday party. I loved planning this one because Dr. Seuss is so versatile. The ideas are endless!!

All the food was named with themes and each table was a different Dr. Seuss book. My tables were: Cat in the Hat Comes Back (since Cat in the Hat was part of my food table), Green Eggs & Ham, The Grinch That Stole Christmas, Horton Hears a Who, Oh The Places You'll Go,

& The Lorax.

First up, the Cat in the Hat parfaits. I had seem a few different versions here and there, but decided to do my own with plastic water glasses in the wedding section of the dollar store. We added whipped cream on top and a little Swedish Fish candy for decoration.

What Dr. Seuss party would be complete without green eggs??

One fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish...these were a hit for the little ones.

This was my attempt at making a the Cat's hat tray. Use your imagination!

And of coarse, the Pink Ink Yink Drink (pink lemonade)

The cupcakes were made by me. They were Thing 1 and Thing 2! I loved these! I was going to do the cotton candy on top like I had seen before, but it melts so fast, and the blue icing I mixed came out the perfect color and I just pulled it with a fork to make crazy hair and viola!

Each table had quotes from Dr. Seuss books relevent to the story. Everyone loved going around and reading them and picking which table they were going to sit at.

My favorite table- Horton hears a who. On the clover, I put a sign that says, "A person'a a person, no matter how small."

My talented mom made the green eggs and ham out of felt and a kitchen towel!

Can you see the little red box? That has Thing 1 and Thing 2 hopping out of it.

The treat bags. Horton for girls, Cat in Hat for the boys, and One Fish Two Fish for the birthday girls! They were filled with Dr. Seuss stuff I got at Target in the dollar section, plus some little ideas of my own. Cat in the Hat hats, pencils, makers, erasers, memo boards, note pads and gold fish, buttons - all Dr. Seuss!

I made the Lorax trees out of pom poms, and stuck the pipe cleaners in play-doh to dry.
